Maintaining Fire Escape Stairways

…………….Facilities managers and site managers should be aware that checks to external fire escape staircases should be undertaken on a regular basis (weekly, monthly, annually and on a 3 – 5 year basis). While the weekly and monthly tests can generally be undertaken in-house by a competent person, the annual and 3 – 5 year checks may require a more detailed approach and report provided by a specialist.  Our chartered surveyor can undertake detailed surveys for both individuals and schools starting from approximately £300.00 for a single two storey external staircase.
