Project description: The clients required a new annexe area to be added to the dwelling to accommodate a possible nanny or elderly relative to live with the family. They also required a new home office facility and some modifications to the main house to include:

• Two additional bathrooms and refurbishment of three existing bathrooms,
• New steam room facility,
• New timber staircase, 
• New septic tank drainage, and 
• New heating arrangements throughout the house.

Works undertaken by ghd: Statutory consents were not straightforward due to the conservation area location. Numerous design options were discussed with Development Control resulting in a condition for the annexe to be linked to main house.

The clients spent time abroad and ghd were requested to carry out interior design finishes to the 5nr bathrooms; choosing tile finishes to floors and walls, etc.  

Works included for full architectural services from initial design concept to final completion on site.
